Wine tasting is often seen as an adult-only activity, but what if you could enjoy a delightful day of wine exploration with your entire family? At Missick Cellars, we have set two goals - 1) produce world class wines from some of the best Texas vineyards, and 2) provide an environment where the entire family can enjoy the experience and learn a little about wine along the way. Additionally, Boerne itself offers a multitude of family experiences outside of great wine and beer, that make it ideal for families to enjoy.

Why the Emphasis on Family Friendly Wine Tasting?

First of all, we believe wine is food, meant to be enjoyed at the family table with the ones we love in order to elevate our community and culinary experiences. Second, it acts like a time capsule, bringing us back to a specific place, in a specific year, where the wine was crafted with specific intention by the winemaker. Ultimately, it is also about responsibility. A focus on family allows us to contextualize the wine as an experience, intended to be shared in a spirit of respect, moderation, and responsibility.

Perhaps even more importantly, when wine is separated from the family, children don't grow up to witness the wonder that exists in a bottle of wine. As a result, they become less likely to thirst for that desire as adults. Finally, when enjoyed in moderation, children have the chance to see what responsible consumption is all about.

We want adults to be comfortable relaxing, which is why we offer a playground, non-alcoholic beverage options, and Missick Cellars themed coloring sheets.
